At around 0900 this morning Marine Rescue Forster Tuncurry was contacted to retrieve a jet ski that was abandoned near the Forster main beach shark buoy, and was posing a navigation hazard for boaters off thesouthern breakwall.
The rider had to abandon the jet ski when he saw smoke and it started taking on water. He was picked up and returned to shore by another jet ski in the vicinity.
Forster 30 was tasked and eventually found the partially-submerged jet ski after it had drifted 1nm out to sea, still posing a danger for boaters. Forster 30 took the craft under tow, returning it to its owner at the Forster boat ramp
